HCHS Track and Field takes home second place

On Tuesday night, the HCHS girls varsity track and field team competed in the Lady Red Relays event at Missouri Valley High School. The Cyclones finished in second place for a total of 109 points, finishing 30 behind the Treynor Cardinals.

HCHS Boys Varsity Track and Field takes home fifth at Wildcat Relays

On Tuesday, The HCHS boys varsity track and field team competed in the Wildcat Relays at Carlisle High School and took home fifth place with a total of 73 points. Head coach Sam Brummer was very proud of how his boys competed.

IKM-Manning Girls Varsity Track and Field ties for third place at Bob Clark Relays

On Tuesday night, the IKM-Manning girls varsity track and field team had a strong finish at the Bob Clark Relays with a total of 86 points.
“Overall, we tied with Audubon for third and had some really good finishes,” said Emma Konkler.
Konkler highlighted areas that her girls stood out throughout the course of the event.

HCHS Varsity Golf defeats Kuemper Catholic by three strokes

It was a windy day at the Harlan Golf and Country Club, however that didn’t stop the HCHS boys varsity golf team from coming out strong as they defeated Kuemper Catholic by three strokes Monday night.
“Jace Gubbels, Braydon Ernst, and Alex Bladt did a good job managing the course and weather today,” said HCHS Head Coach Chad Swanson. “Sam Bladt came through with a solid scoring round as well.”

HCHS victorious over Trojans

On Monday night, the HCHS girls varsity tennis team battled the Atlantic Trojans in fierce winds, and were victorious by a final score of 7-2.
“I am so proud of the girls and their play tonight,” said HCHS Head Coach Katie Arentson. “The girls came out strong and didn't let up.  I can see their confidence growing as we accumulate more wins, and it is just really fun to watch.”

HCHS Varsity Soccer wins via Mercy Rule

After losing their previous match to the Lewis Central Titans, 10-0, the HCHS girls varsity soccer team turned the tables and won over the East Sac County Raiders by a final of 10-0 Monday night.
“Good to rebound tonight,” said Head Coach Jared Boysen. “We had a lot of different people step up.”

Smiths to reign over Tivoli Fest 2022

Tivoli Fest Queen and King Barb and Mark Smith of Elk Horn were crowned April 23 at the fundraising dinner. Both Barb and Mark have raised their family in Elk Horn and been very involved in the community. Also on hand to welcome people attending the dinner were the Tivoli 2022 Princess Susan Reinhardt, Kimballton and Prince Brody Larsen, Elk Horn.

Harlan drops matchup to Lewis Central

It was a rough day for the Harlan soccer girls as they dropped their game to the Lewis Central Titans 10-0. Head coach Jared Boysen spoke on what he was proud of despite such a tough loss.
“We did a decent job for a while of staying on their feet and not giving them many open looks but they were just too strong and had multiple good scoring opportunities,” Boysen said.
