Charles "Bud" Kyle, 90

    AVOCA -- Charles “Bud” Kyle, 90, Avoca, died March 6 at Myrtue Medical Center.    No services will be held.    Kyle is survived by his wife, Carol Kyle, of Avoca; children Christy, Craig, Cary, and Carla; stepchildren Darla and Daryl; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.    Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Avoca is in charge of arrangements.

Marlon Jepsen, 70

    ONAWA -- Marlon S. Jepson, 70, Onawa, died Jan. 11 at Elmwood Care Centre, Onawa.    A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at the Goslar Funeral Home Chapel, Onawa.  A visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the Chapel.

Peggy Pauley, 54

    PANAMA -- Peggy Sue Pauley, 64, Panama, died Sunday, Feb. 27 at her home.    She is survived by husband, Gerald Pauley; daughter, Dr.

Zachary Freese, 27

    MANILLA -- Zachary Robin Freese, 27, Manilla, died February 28.    Services were held Monday, March 7 at 1 p.m. at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan with burial in the Nishnabotna Cemetery in Manilla.    Freese is survived by mother Kathy (Meier) Freese, father Robin Freese, and sisters Vanessa Freese and Joanna Freese, all of Manilla; maternal grandmother Janet Meier of Irwin; and paternal grandmother Shirley Freese of Manilla.

Ricky Taylor, 55

    HARLAN -- Ricky Taylor, 55, Harlan, formerly of Wiota, died March 3 at Elm Crest Assisted Living.    Services will be held Tuesday, March 8 at 11 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Wiota with burial in the First Lutheran Church cemetery in Wiota. Visitation was Monday, March 7 from 5-7 p.m.

Sherry McBride, 82

BPA STUDENTS ON TO NATIONALS!

HARLAN -- Students from Harlan Community High School will be attending the Business Professionals of America (BPA) 2022 National Leadership Conference, in Dallas, TX, May 4-8.    HCHS chapter members will join nearly 6,000 conference delegates from across the nation to compete in national level business skills competitions and attend leadership development, workshops, general sessions, and national officer candidate campaigns and elections.  

State re-launches Missing Person Clearinghouse

Regional Water, HMU in talks about water supply improvements
