HARLAN — Former Harlan Community School District sixth grade social studies teacher Eric Robert Croghan, 31, of Harlan, was charged with sexual exploitation of a minor and with the purchase/possession of a depiction of a minor in a sexual act. The charges were filed May 8, and Croghan was taken into custody by the Shelby County Sheriff’s Department and booked into the Shelby County Jail on a $7,000 bond. According to court documents, a search

Cyclone Sophomore Jaylee Schmitz made history recently during the Bruce Henderson Invite at Atlantic High School when she moved into 9th place all time with a 17.09 time in the hurdles.

The HCHS boys track and field team continue to dominate breaking conference records at the Hawkeye-10 Meet Thursday in both the 4x100 and 4x200 relay races.

Exira-EHK Senior Quinn Grubbs has signed a Letter of Intent to go play basketball at Dordt University, a private evangelical university in Sioux City, following the conclusion of her high school days.

IKM-Manning Senior Caden Keller made Wolves history in track and field at the Bob Clark Relays April 25 breaking the school record in the 3200 by almost 18 seconds with a time of 9:46.78.

The HCHS boys varsity golf team took first place with 316 strokes beating out Kuemper Catholic by one, Denison by three and Atlantic by four in the Hawkeye-10 Tournament Thursday.
