    LINCOLN, NE -- Mary Jane “MJ” Broomfield, 67, Lincoln, NE, died March 28 at her home.    Services will be held Friday, April 6 at 2 p.m.

Graham Gould, 77

    COUNCIL BLUFFS -- Graham Gould, 77, Council Bluffs, died March 24 at his home.    Services will be held Saturday, April 7 at 11 a.m. at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan with burial in the Harlan Cemetery.  A Masonic Service will be held Friday, April 6 at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.  Visitation is Friday from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.    Gould is survived by cousins, nieces, nephews and other family members.

35th Anniversary of Museum of Danish America

    ELK HORN - Members of the founding committee to establish the museum in 1983 were part of the more than 130 participants at the anniversary kick-off event on Monday.  Denmark’s ambassador to the U.S., Lars G. Mock Trial teams compete well at state event

    HARLAN – Two Harlan Community High School Mock Trial students earned all-state attorney honors at the Mock Trial State Meet held at Hy-Vee Hall in Des Moines March 26-27.    Alexis Irlbeck and Hannah Bissen were awarded for their efforts at the state meet which saw two HCHS teams compete.

    HARLAN -- Myrtue Medical Center Diagnostic Imaging Director Keri Schwieso said MMC has had great response from the community and are seeing new patients each week since the addition of the 3D mammography at MMC last summer.

Schwartes mark 45th wedding anniversary

    DEFIANCE -- Joe and Vernita Schwarte of Defiance will celebrate their 45th wedding anniversary on April 7. Their family includes Darla and Joe Krosko, Omaha; Darin and Adrienne Schwarte, Knoxville, TN; Deana and Joey Slater, Breda, IA; Dana Jackson, Marathon; and six grandchildren.

    WOODBINE – Rosemary H. Koppold, 86, Woodbine, died March 29 at Rose Vista Nursing Home in Woodbine.    Services are pending at Cutler-O’Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Homes and Crematory in Council Bluffs.
