HARVEY -- Teresa Williams-Rosenbloom, 63, Harvey, died August 11 at Hospice of Pella.    Services were held Monday, Aug. 16 at 11 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Harlan with burial in the Harlan Cemetery.    She is survived by her husband, Dennis Rozenboom, of Harvey; sons Brent Williams of Harvey, Christopher Rozenbloom of Pella, and Curtis (Kendra Willoughby) Rozenbloom of St.

 AREA -- Led by first-teamer Macy Emgarten, four players from three local schools have been named to the 2021 Iowa Girls Coaches Association’s All-State Softball teams. Emgarten, a junior from Exira-Elk Horn-Kimballton, made the Class 1A first team this summer after being selected for the second team last year and the honorable mention list in 2019.

    HARLAN -- The Harlan Community Library is having its annual used book sale August 9-September 4 during regular business hours.  All proceeds from the sale go to fund the library’s various children and adult programs.

    HARLAN -- “City Shopping in a Small Town” is the theme for this year’s Myrtue Medical Center Auxiliary Fall Bazaar and Luncheon.  The event is planned for Thursday, Sept. 9 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at Veteran’s Auditorium in Harlan.      The public may purchase raffle and luncheon tickets Monday through Friday between 10 a.m.-1 p.m.

    HARLAN – Brian Byrnes of Brick Wall Gallery in downtown Harlan knows the local art presence in the Harlan area is strong, and he wants the broader community to experience it on a regular basis.    This desire to amplify the presence of local art is behind the launch of a new running exhibit that started August 5 called Two Artists – Two Weekends.  The first installation is running Thursday night through Saturday afternoon the first two wee
