Cyclone Lodge bust leads to hotel manager’s arrest

    HARLAN – The manager of a local hotel has been charged with numerous drug-related offenses after a search warrant was issued at her hotel residence February 2.    Kimberly Ann Thomas, 59, 2004 23rd St., Managers Suite, is charged with possession with intent to deliver, failure to affix tax stamp, possession of a controlled substance methamphetamine second offense, prohibited acts, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Rachel's Challenge Coming to Harlan Community

Commander Condie

    HARLAN – Harlan’s Stacy Condie has been named commander of the Civil Air Patrol’s Southwest Iowa Composite Squadron (NCR-IA-003) following a changing of the guard ceremony held January 4.    First Lieutenant Condie takes over for Major Jason Erickson, who will continue to serve as vice commander for the Iowa Wing of Civil Air Patrol.    The Civil Air Patrol is a volunteer auxiliary of the Air Force chartered by the United States Congress.

COVID-19 state data websites decommissioned

Omaha carjacking leads to chase, arrests in Panama

    PANAMA – A carjacking in Omaha, NE Saturday evening, Feb. 5 led to a chase that traveled into Iowa and Shelby County before coming to an end in Panama with four juveniles taken into custody.    Omaha Police Department reports that at approximately 9:09 p.m.
