HARLAN -- Robert “Bob” Scheel, 80, Harlan, died June 11 at his home.    Services will be held Tuesday, June 16 at 10:30 a.m. at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan with burial in the Jacksonville Cemetery at Jacksonville.  Visitation was held Monday, June 15 from 5-8 p.m.

    HARLAN -- David Eugene Sargent, 50, Harlan, died June 4 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.    A Life Celebration will be held July 25 at Prairie Rose State Park Shelter House 2 from 10 a.m.-10 p.m.    Sargent is survived by his mother, Lana (Blount) Sargent of Harlan; and brother Timothy (Donna) Sargent of Kimballton.    Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan is in charge of arrangements.

    OMAHA, NE -- Alice Alexander, 85, Omaha, NE, died May 22 at Bergan Mercy Medical Center.    Services were held Saturday, May 30 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Earling with burial in the St.

    HARLAN -- Florence Jeanne Friend, 97, Harlan, died May 29 at her home.    A private family service was held Sunday, May 31 at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan with burial in the Harlan Cemetery.    Friend is survived by daughters Janet (James) Swensen of Harlan and Jo (Alan) Kenkel of Defiance; 15 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
 

    HARLAN -- Joyce Leanna Christensen, 84, Harlan, died June 1 at her home.    Services will be held Saturday, June 6 at 2 p.m.

    AVOCA -- Donald James Lundergard, 92, Avoca, died June 2 at Avoca Specialty Care.    Services will be held Saturday, June 6 at 10 a.m. at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Avoca with burial in the Grange Cemetery in Honey Creek.  Public visitation is Friday, June 5 from 4-7 p.m.

    TENNANT -- Emerald G. Sheeler Jr., 84, Tennant, died May 29.    No services are planned at this time.     He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sylvia (Conover) of Tennant; children Sylvia G. (Byron) Herron; Dennis of CA; Garry (Jill) of NE; Brian (Vicky) of NE; brother Larry of MO; sisters Lucille Elms of Ft.

    HARLAN -- Dewey Andrew Hess, 81, Harlan, died Friday, May 29 in Harlan.    Services will be held Wednesday, June 3 at 10:30 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Harlan with burial in the Jacksonville Cemetery in Jacksonville.  Friends may call Wednesday from 9-10:30 a.m.

    PANAMA -- Donald Joseph Keane, 86, Panama, died May 28 at Rose Vista Home, Inc.    Private family Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, May 30 at St. Mary’s of the Assumption in Panama with burial in the St.

    HARLAN -- Eric Jon Sorensen, 58, Harlan, died May 27 at Elm Crest Retirement Community.    Services were held Monday, June 1 at 2 p.m. at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan with burial in the Harlan Cemetery.    Sorensen is survived by sister-in-law Donna Sorensen of Harlan.
 

    HARLAN -- Mildred Vandenberg, 96, Harlan, died May 26 at her home.    Services will be held Saturday, June 6 at 11 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Harlan with burial in the Harlan Cemetery.  Visitation is Friday, June 5 from 5-8 p.m.

    HARLAN -- Mary Jane (Jacobsen) Zaccone, 83, Harlan, died May 27 at Hansen House.    A private family Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, May 30 at St.

    COUNCIL BLUFFS -- Carlo Joseph Salvo, 95, Council Bluffs, died May 19 at Country House Memory Care.    A private funeral mass was held with interment in the St. Joseph Cemetery with military honors by the Kanesville Rider Honor Guard.    Salvo is survived by his nine children -- Leona R. Konz (Robert), Shelby, JC Salvo (Trudy), Omaha, NE, Carlo J. Salvo, Jr., Council Bluffs, Stephen P. Salvo (Nancy), Johnston, Diann M.
