    CARROLL - Gary R. Brown, 76 died on Sunday, August 9 at St. Anthony Regional Hospital, Carroll.    Brown had worked for Super Value (later purchased by HyVee) in Harlan.    A visitation will be held from 5 - 7 P.M. on Friday, August 14 at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home , Carroll.    Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 15 at the Carroll Football Stadium.    A graveside service will held at 3:30 p.m.

    Harlan - Michael Elliot Wellman, 46 died Friday, August 7 at his home in Harlan.    Visitation is Wed., August 12 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

    HARLAN -- Roger Frank Ewert, 78, Harlan, died August 3 at his home.    Services will be held Saturday, Aug. 22 at 3 p.m. at Congregational United Church of Christ, Harlan.  Visitation is Saturday from 1-3 p.m.

    Harlan - Timothy Jacobsen, 40, of Harlan, died on Sunday, August 9, 2020 at UNMC in Omaha.      Visitation is Friday, August 14 from 3 p.m. - 6 p.m.

    Tennant - Arletha Hockett, 92, of Tennant died on Sunday, August 9, 2020 at Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs.      Visitation is Friday, August 14 from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Pauley Jones Funeral Home, Harlan with funeral services at  11 a.m.

    Avoca - died on Tuesday, August 4, 2020, at Avoca Specialty Care in Avoca.    A memorial service and private inurenment will be held at a later date    He is survived by his wife, Jo (Morris) Warden; six children and their spouses, Mike (Deb Reiss) Warden,  Gillian (Keith) Walker, Doug (Joy Meader) Warden, Lincoln Warden, Anne (Mark) Harrison, Sam (Laurie Colbert) Warden; one sister, Meg Hartmen; 17 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchil

    HARLAN -- Gerald “Jerry” Kloewer, 94, Harlan, died Saturday, Aug. 1 in Harlan.    Services were held Tuesday, Aug. 4 at 11 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Harlan with burial in the Harlan Cemetery.    Kloewer is survived by his wife, Pauline Kloewer, of Harlan; daughters Sue (Steve) Daeges of Harlan, Jeri (Steve) Ozbun of Harlan, Connie (Bill) Catrenich of Ankeny and Cindy (Curt) Schultz of Ankeny; sisters Sr.

    HARLAN -- Roger Erb, 59, Harlan, died August 4 at his home.    Private family services will be held Saturday, Aug. 8 at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan with burial in the Oak Hill Cemetery at Irwin.  Visitation will be Friday, Aug. 7 from 5-8 p.m.

    Ronald A. Kohles, 86, died August 3.    Services will be held Friday, Aug. 7 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church with interment at 1 p.m. at St. Joseph Cemetery in Earling.  Visitation with the family begins Thursday, Aug. 6 after 5 p.m. at the 72nd Street Chapel of John A.

    AVOCA -- Darlene Justice, 87, Avoca, died August 5 at Avoca Specialty Care.    Services will be held Monday, Aug. 10 at 11 a.m. at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan with burial in the Harlan Cemetery.  Visitation is Sunday, Aug. 9 from 5-7 p.m.

    HARLAN -- LaVonne Anderson, 89, Harlan, died July 31 at her home.    Services will be held Tuesday, Aug. 4 at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Harlan with burial in the Layton Township Cemetery in Walnut.  Visitation was Monday, Aug. 3 from 5-7 p.m.

    IRWIN -- Daniel Ryan Pedersen, 35, Irwin, died July 25 at his home.    A private memorial service was held Thursday, July 30 at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan.  Public visitation was Thursday from 1-3 p.m.

    CARTER LAKE -- Jeannine M. Poldberg, Carter Lake, originally from the Harlan area, died July 27.    Visitation is Thursday, July 30 from 6-8 p.m.
