    HARLAN -- Margaret M. Feldman, 95, Harlan, died December 13 at Elm Crest Retirement Community.    Services will be held Monday, Dec. 18 at 11 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Harlan with burial in the Dunlap Cemetery at Dunlap.  A rosary will be held Sunday, Dec. 17 at 7 p.m. at the church.  Visitation is Sunday from 4-7 p.m.

Marilyn Petersen, 83

    WINCHESTER, KY -- Marilyn Lou Maassen Petersen, 83, Winchester, KY, died Saturday, Dec. 9 at Richmond Place in Lexington, KY.    Services will be held Friday, Dec. 15 at 1 p.m. at Calvary Christian Church with burial in the Harlan Cemetery at a time to be determined.  Visitation is Friday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

Harold G. McKeown, 90

    COUNCIL BLUFFS - Harold Gene McKeown, 90, a former Shelby County Engineer in the 1960s, died December 4 in Council Bluffs.    He was founder and retired president of HGM Associates Inc. (first known as H. Gene McKeown and Associates, Inc.) engineering, architecture and land surveying firm in Council Bluffs and Omaha.    Cutler-O’Neill Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

    PANAMA -- Nora Mardelle Schechinger, 27 days old, Panama, died December 9 at Children’s Hospital in Omaha.    Services were held Wednesday, Dec. 13 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s of the Assumption Church in Panama with burial in the St.

Raises approved for elected officials, non-union staff

COUNTY – Elected officials and their deputies in Shelby County will see a three percent salary increase in 2018-19 as approved by the Shelby County Board of Supervisors last month.    The board voted unanimously approving the raise following discussion of recommendations made by the county’s compensation board.  The compensation board met on November 7 and voted 5-0 to “approve an increase for all elected officials to be equal to the increase
