    ROCKWELL, TX -- Word has been received of the death of Barbara Jane Stenberg, Rockwell, TX, a former Elk Horn and Harlan resident.    The family will hold a private service.    Stenberg is survived by her children Shane Alan Stenberg and Tracy Sue (Frank) English; grandchildren Chaz (Jade) English and great-grandson Sage; Anastasia Hoosman and Francesca English; sister Phyllis Hoegh; nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends.

Vikings’ Grobe named second team All-State

 DES MOINES (March 16) -- AHSTW junior Raydden Grobe was named second team All-State in Class 2A on Tuesday morning as the Iowa Print Sports Writers Association released its All-State Boys Basketball selections for the 2020-2021 season. Members of the IPSWA, with assistance from more than two dozen coaches, chose three all-state teams per class during a virtual meeting on March 13, also naming Waukee senior Tucker DeVries this year’s Mr.

Kohles, Bryan-Grubbs receive Sportsmanship Award

 DES MOINES -- Connie Kohles, representing Harlan Community, and Connie Bryan-Grubbs (Exira-Elk Horn-Kimballton) both received the Iowa Farm Bureau Sportsmanship Award prior to their school’s first round game at this year’s Girls State Basketball Tournament at Wells Fargo Arena. Each year, state-qualifying schools are asked to identify one spectator that epitomizes good sportsmanship and decorum.
