Goshorn reflects on stellar volleyball career

AHSTW Senior Delaney Goshorn has concluded her volleyball career. During the season, Goshorn led in multiple categories for the Vikings, including kills with 242, and 50 blocks. But it wasn’t just her senior season where she led in multiple categories. During her junior season, she led in kills with 185 and blocks with 56, along with 51 blocks her sophomore season.

Spartans volleyball season concludes at CAM

Last Wednesday, the Exira-EHK volleyball team’s season came to an end on the road at CAM High School losing in four sets. The Cougars won sets one and two 25-11 and 25-17, the Spartans bounced back to take set three 25-23, but the Cougars won set four 25-21 for the victory.

Wolves volleyball season ended by Panthers

Last Monday on the road, the IKM-Manning Wolves volleyball season came to end in an intense five set match with the Glidden-Ralston Panthers. The Panthers won set one 25-15, the Wolves won sets two and three 25-18 and 25-23, but the Panthers won the final two sets 25-14 and 15-6.
“I was proud of their hard fought battle, and I gave the seniors a hug since it was their last volleyball game,” said Wolves Head Coach McKaylie Croghan.

Spartans win playoff game under first-year coach Buckholdt

After a dominating first half in which they scored in each quarter and led the Glidden-Ralston Wildcats 22-8, the Exira-EHK Spartans fell flat in the third quarter and then what looked like a victory going away, became a barn burner when the Wildcats scored to open the fourth quarter making it a one score game, 22-16

Wolves season ends with playoff loss

The IKM-Manning Wolves football season has come to an end after a loss to the Madrid Tigers on the road Friday night in the Class A – First Round Game, 45-7.

Vikings shut down Blackhawks on road

The Vikings had to face an uphill battle in the 5-3 Hinton Blackhawks on the but were able to shut them out 21-0.
“We were very confident going in, and felt good about the match-up,” said Vikings Head Coach G.G. Harris.
Camden Soukup recorded 114 passing yards, along with 88 rushing yards. Kayden Baxter had 61 receiving yards, and defensively Blake Akers was stellar on defense recording 13 tackles.

Cyclones win regular season finale

The phrase, “controlling your own destiny” is fairly common in sports, and Friday night on the road with their season potentially on the line, the Cyclones were able to do so winning 42-26 over the Knoxville Panthers.

HCHS Girls Qualify for State Cross Country

 PELLA— The Harlan Community High School Girls Cross Country team finished second in the 3A State Qualifying Cross Coutry meet in Pella Wednesday night, qualifying them for state.

Middle School runners compete at Statewide Cross Country Meet

 ANKENY — Six Harlan Community Middle School students volunteered to run in the Washburn Classic Middle School Statewide Cross Country Meet Saturday, October 14.  The meet was held at Centennial High School in Ankeny.  Students who competed included (as pictured) seventh grade boys Ben Cox and Brogan Schechinger; seventh grade girls Charlotte Cronin and Julia Heslink; and eighth grade girls Aspen Bieker and Ashlyn Rau.
