    HARLAN -- Kathleen Ann Potter, 65, Harlan, died December 12 in Des Moines.    Memorial services will be held in the spring.    Potter is survived by her husband, Darryl Potter, of Harlan; daughter Sheila Rasmussen of Council Bluffs; brothers Richard (Kathy) Hemminger of California and David (Marilyn) Hemminger of Marshalltown; sisters Sally Davis of Alabama and Cindy (Bill) Powell of Nevada; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren

    HARLAN -- Paul Martin Zaccone, 19, Harlan, died Sunday, Dec. 13 at the University of Northern Iowa.    Services will be held Saturday, Dec. 19 at 11 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Harlan with burial in the Harlan Cemetery.    A wake service will be held Friday, Dec. 18 at 7 p.m. at the church.  Family will greet friends Friday from 4-8 p.m.

    AVOCA -- Robert Irvin Hundt, 75, Avoca, died December 14 at Creighton University Medical Center.    Services will be held Friday, Dec. 18 at 10:30 a.m. at United Church of Christ in Minden with burial in the Minden Cemetery.  Visitation was Thursday, Dec. 17 from 5-8 p.m., with family greeting friends from 6-8 p.m.

    CEDAR FALLS -- Services are pending for Paul Martin Zaccone, 19, Harlan, who died in his sleep of natural causes on Sunday, Dec. 13.    He is the son of Mark and Kim Zaccone, Harlan.    Zaccone was a freshman at the University of Northern Iowa.    Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan is in charge of arrangements.

    COUNCIL BLUFFS -- Richard L. Thomsen, 77, Council Bluffs, formerly of Tennant, died Thursday, Dec. 10 in Council Bluffs.    A prayer service was held Monday, Dec. 14 at 11 a.m. at Burmeister-Johannsen Funeral Home in Shelby.  Friends were asked to call Monday from 10-11 a.m.

    PANAMA -- Patricia “Pat” Margaret Kenkel, 71, Panama, died December 11 at her home.    Services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 15 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s of the Assumption Catholic Church in Panama with burial in the St. Mary’s Cemetery at Panama.  A rosary was held Monday, Dec. 14 at 7 p.m. at St. Mary’s Parish Center in Panama.  Visitation was Monday from 4-8 p.m.

    EARLING -- Raymond Anthony Schaben, 85, Earling, died December 10 at Myrtue Medical Center in Harlan.    Services were held Monday, Dec. 14 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Westphalia with burial in the St.

    WAUKEE -- Gene Hans Mohr, 75, Waukee, formerly of Avoca, died December 7 at his home.    Services were held Thursday, Dec. 10 at 10:30 a.m.

    HARLAN -- Dolores Marie Wilkinson, 88, Harlan, died December 6 at Elm Crest Retirement Community in Harlan.    Services will be held Friday, Dec. 11 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s of the Assumption Church in Panama with burial in the St. Mary’s Cemetery at Panama.  A rosary was held Thursday, Dec. 10 at 7 p.m. at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan.  Visitation was Thursday from 5-8 p.m.

    HARLAN -- Gayle “Whitey” Petersen, 82, Harlan, died December 6 at Myrtue Medical Center in Harlan.    Services will be held Friday, Dec. 11 at 10:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Harlan with burial in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Kirkman.  Visitation was Thursday, Dec. 10 from 4-7 p.m., with family greeting friends from 6-7 p.m.

Prescott, AZ  —  Ivan Janssen, 75, died December 5 at his home.  Janssen formerly of Harlan, graduated from hhs in 1958.  He also served 4 years in the Navy.    There will be a celebration of his life Saturday Dec. 12.    Janssen is survived by son Michael of Scottsdale; and daughter Katie of Prescott, az;  brothers Gerald (Patricia) of Peoria, az, Dale (Cheryl) of Camp Verde, az and Lyle of Prescott, and six grandchildren.
