SIOUX CITY -- The Rev. Judith “Judy” Ann Campbell Piper, 68, Sioux City, died August 4 at St. Luke’s Hospital.    Services will be held Friday, Aug. 12 at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Harlan with burial in the Harlan Cemetery.  Visitation is Friday from 9-11 a.m.

    AVOCA -- Esther M. Dea, 99, Avoca, died Monday, Aug. 8 in Avoca.    Services will be held Friday, Aug. 12 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Avoca with burial in the Graceland Cemetery at Avoca.  A prayer service was held Thursday, Aug. 11 at 5:30 p.m. at the church.  Friends were asked to call Thursday from 4-8 p.m.

    STORY CITY -- Jay Kenyon Bell, 90, Story City, died Saturday, Aug. 6 at Bethany Manor in Story City.    Funeral services will be held Saturday, Aug. 13 at 11 a.m.

    CENTERVILLE -- Dorothy (Butcher) Sievers, 66, Centerville, died August 7 at her home.    Services were held Wednesday, Aug. 10 at 11 a.m.

    FORT COLLINS, CO -- Vincent C. Archer, 87, Fort Collins, CO, formerly of Avoca, died June 26 in Fort Collins.    A graveside service will be held Saturday, Aug. 13 at 11 a.m. at the Graceland Cemetery in Avoca.    Archer is survived by sons Neil (Sue) Archer of Champaign, IL, Jeffrey (Dorothy) Archer of Fort Collins, and Bradley (Kris) Archer of Iowa City; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

    HARLAN -- Carrie L. Whisenant, 56, Harlan, died Thursday, Aug. 4 in Harlan.    Graveside services will be held Tuesday, Aug. 9 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Mary’s Cemetery in Panama.  Friends were asked to call Monday, Aug. 8 from 2-8 p.m. with family greeting friends from 5-7 p.m. at Burmeister-Johannsen Funeral Home in Harlan.    Burial is in the St. Mary’s Cemetery in Panama.    Whisenant is survived by son Dustin J.

    EARLING - Garry Gaul, 73, Earling died on Tuesday, August 2 at his home.    A visitation will be held on Sat., August 6 from 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Earling with  a funeral Mass to follow at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the St.

    HARLAN - Funeral services for Ronald Joseph Beach, 56, Harlan, who died on Sun., July 31, will be held on Friday, August 5 at 5 p.m. at Temple Israel, 13111 Sterling Ridge Dr., Omaha.

    GRINNELL - Scott Goetzinger, 55, Grinnell, died on Friday, July 29 at his home.

    LEHIGH - A memorial service will be held at a later date for Terry Wiig, Lehigh, Iowa. Wiig died Tues., July 26 in Iowa City.      Survivors include: his mother, Margaret Wiig, Harlan; brothers Gene (Julienne) Wiig, Kirkman and Larry Wiig, Council Bluffs and one sister, Cathy (Gene) Cavenaugh, Harlan.

    WALNUT -- Kimberly Jo (Antisdel) Knapp, 55, Walnut, died July 24 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN.    Services will be held Saturday, July 30 at 10:30 a.m. at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Avoca with burial in the Layton Township Cemetery in Walnut.  Visitation is Friday, July 29 from 5-8 p.m. with family greeting friends from 6-8 p.m.
