Wolves’ big rally cut short in overtime

    ATLANTIC -- James W. Kemp, 94, Atlantic, died Friday, Dec. 9 at Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic.    Services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 13 at 11 a.m. at United Church of Christ in Atlantic with lunch following and then burial with military honors by the Atlantic Color Guard at 1:30 p.m.

Mary Ann Kloewer, 85

    COLUMBUS, NE -- Mary Ann Kloewer, 85, Columbus, NE, died December 9 at her home.    Services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 14 at 11 a.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Defiance with burial in the St. Peter and Paul Cemetery at Defiance.  Visitation is Wednesday from 9-11 a.m.

IWCC bond issue passes

Harlan selected for Iowa Small Town Poll participation

    AMES -- The Iowa Small Town Poll, an Iowa State University survey that gauges quality of life in rural Iowa, will soon hit mailboxes in communities across the state.  Harlan has been chosen to participate in the poll, and residents already may have received a postcard in the mail during the last few weeks.    The poll’s organizers have announced plans to conduct the survey every two years, rather than every 10 years as in the past.

Wingert earns Dan Hill Invite championship
