SHENANDOAH -- Ronald Dale Steinkuehler, 74, Shenandoah, formerly of Harlan, died January 7 at Avoca Specialty Care.    Services will be held Saturday, Jan. 13 at 11 a.m.

    HARLAN -- Talena F. Andersen, 93, Harlan, died Monday, Jan. 8 in Harlan.    Services were held Thursday, Jan. 11 at 11 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Harlan with burial in the Harlan Cemetery.    Andersen is survived by sons Arthur C.

   NEOLA -- Marian Pauley of Neola will celebrate her 80th birthday on January 25. Her family is planning a card shower in her honor.    Cards will reach her if sent to 612 2nd Street, Neola, IA 51559. 

    HARLAN -- Katie Vande Berg and Brett Shively both of Kearney, NE were married on October 28, 2017 at the First United Methodist Church in Harlan. The 3 p.m. double ring ceremony was performed by Rev. Darwin Moore.    Parents of the couple are Mark and Kandi Vande Berg, Harlan; and Bruce Shively, Norfolk, NE; and Sally Shively, Norfolk.

   RURAL SHELBY -- Amanda Findlay and Marcus Erwin both of Harlan exchanged marriage vows on October 14, 2017 at the Willow Creek Glass Chapel in rural Shelby. Officiant Jason Fuhs performed the 3 p.m. double ring ceremony.    Parents of the couple are Sara Findlay, Panama, and the late Cole Findlay; and Terry Erwin Sr., Harlan, and Cheryl Erwin, Council Bluffs. 

    AVOCA -- Margaret Marilyn Hanson, 78, Avoca, died January 6 at her home.    Services are pending at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Avoca and will be held at a later date.    Hanson is survived by her husband, Milton Hanson, of Avoca; daughters Rena (Roger) Shaw of Coon Rapids and Rita (David Cummings) Hanson of Sacramento, CA; son Dana (Heather) Hanson of Charlotte, NC; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. 

    HARLAN -- Merle Bettcher, 80, Harlan, died January 5 at Myrtue Medical Center in Harlan.    Services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 9 at 11 a.m. at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan with burial at a later date.  Visitation is Tuesday from 9-11 a.m.
