ATLANTIC -- Don M. Nielsen, 84, Atlantic, died Monday, March 26 in Atlantic.    Services will be held Saturday, March 31 at 11 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Harlan with burial of ashes in the Jacksonville Cemetery.  Family will greet friends Saturday from 10-11 a.m. at the church.    Nielsen is survived by sons Pastor Phillip (DeAnn) Nielsen of Kirkman and Mark (Amy) Nielsen of St.

    HARLAN -- Frances L. Justice, 90, Harlan, died March 23 at Elm Crest Retirement Community.    Services will be held Tuesday, March 27 at 2 p.m. at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan with burial in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Irwin.  Visitation is Tuesday from 1-2 p.m.

    HARLAN -- Patricia Ann Kloewer, 84, Harlan, died March 23 at Myrtue Medical Center in Harlan.    Services will be held Wednesday, March 28 at 11 a.m. at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan with burial at a later date in the St. Boniface Cemetery in Westphalia.  Visitation is Tuesday, March 27 from 5-8 p.m.

    AVOCA -- Merle John F. Bolich, 90, Avoca, died March 19 at Avoca Specialty Care.    Services will be held Tuesday, March 27 at 11 a.m. at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan with burial in the Harlan Cemetery.  Visitation is Tuesday from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home.    Bolich is survived by sister Mary Clark of Ainsworth.

Wilwerding, 85, Earling, died Monday, March 19 in Earling.    Services will be held Friday, March 23 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Earling with burial in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Earling.  A wake service was held Thursday, March 22 at 7:30 p.m. at the church.  Friends were asked to call Thursday from 4-8 p.m. with family greeting friends from 5-8 p.m.

    HARLAN -- Services for Gary Hans Christiansen, 80, Harlan, who died January 10, will be held Saturday, March 24 at 11 a.m.

    AVOCA -- Charles P. Schachterle, 90, Avoca, formerly of Des Moines, died Thursday, March 15 at Avoca Specialty Care.    Services were held Monday, March 19 at 11 a.m.

    SHELBY -- Rick Lee Flynn, 56, Shelby, died March 15 at Methodist Hospital.    Services are pending at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan.    Flynn is survived by his mother, Glenyce Jean (Obrecht) Wendelin of Harlan; father Richard (Bonnie) Flynn of Perry Park, KY; brother Robb (Lauren) Flynn of Katy, TX; and stepbrothers Rick (Shelley) Turner of Nabb, IN and Rob (Holly) Turner of La Grange, KY. 

    HARLAN -- Julie Ann Ranney-Mikels, 61, Harlan, died March 13 at her home.    Visitation will be Sunday, March 18 from 5-7 p.m. at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan.    Ranney-Mikels is survived by sons Richard (Keri) Ranney of Harlan and Robert (Katie) Ranney of Colo; brothers Jim Ranney of Turner, OR, Joe Ranney of Harlan and Jeff Ranney of Harlan; and three grandchildren.

    WALNUT -- Alice Lamer, 88, Walnut, died Tuesday, March 13 in Elk Horn.    Services will be held Saturday, March 17 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Walnut with burial in the St. Patrick’s Cemetery at Walnut.  A wake service will be held Friday, March 16 at 8 p.m. at the church.  Friends may call Friday from 4-8 p.m. with family greeting friends from 6-8 p.m.

    SHELBY -- Lula Margaret Pingel, 108, Shelby, died March 3 at Avoca Specialty Care.    Services were held Thursday, March 8 at 10:30 a.m. at United Lutheran Church in Shelby with burial in the Shelby Cemetery.  Visitation was Thursday from 9-10:30 a.m.

    HARLAN -- Kenneth William Coenen, 95, Harlan, died March 3 at his home.    Services will be held Thursday, March 8 at 11 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Harlan with burial in the Woodbine Cemetery in Woodbine.  A wake service will be held Wednesday, March 7 at 7 p.m. at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan.  Visitation is Wednesday from 5-8 p.m.
