    SUN CITY WEST, AZ - Dorothy Joan Alff, 86, died on Saturday, August 10 in Sun City West, AZ.    Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 21 at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Avoca with burial in the Graceland Cemetery at Avoca.  Public visitation will be Tuesday, Aug. 20 from 9 a.m.-7 p.m. at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Avoca.    Survivors include her daughter Dr.

Vonda Koch, 90

    NEOLA -- Vonda Koch, 90, Neola, died August 17 at Myrtue Medical Center in Harlan.    Services will be held Tuesday, Aug. 20 at 10:30 a.m. at United Church of Christ in Minden with burial in the Minden Cemetery.  Visitation was held Monday, Aug. 19 from 5-8 p.m. at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Avoca, with family greeting friends from 6-8 p.m.

Norman “Gene” Wiig, 74

    KIRKMAN -- Norman “Gene” Wiig, 74, Kirkman, died August 15 at Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital.    Services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 21 at 11 a.m. at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan.  Visitation is Wednesday from 9-11 a.m.

Ricky Joseph Prososki, 59

TEKAMAH, NE –  Ricky Joseph Prososki was born July 9, 1960, in Omaha, one of four children born to Kenneth and Marlene Prososki. He graduated from Underwood High School in Underwood, and worked in the heating and air conditioning industry for most of his adult life. He was an accomplished musician and singer, and began playing professionally across Nebraska and Iowa with his two brothers and uncle when he was 11.

Tris Tracy Albright, 59

AUDUBON – Tris Tracy Alright was born July 18, 1960 in Brookings, SD to Donn and Rhea Albright. Tris pursued a career as an electrician and on November 23, 1985 he married Brenda Louise Allen.

Dorothy A. Wolf, 90

GREENVILLE, MI – Dorothy was born in Portsmouth on June 9, 1929, the daughter of Andrew and Hazel (Bendon) Gau. She grew up on a farm in rural Iowa and after graduating from high school, attended Drake University and Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls. She then taught in one room country schoolhouses in Shelby County. On January 28, 1954 Dorothy married Jack Wolf of Walnut and they began their life together in Michigan.

Donna Holdsworth, 86

MANILLA – Donna Holdsworth, daughter of George and Arlene (Wasteal) Frailing, was born November 2, 1932, in Shawano, WI. She grew up in Clintonville, WI, where she graduated from high school in 1950. Donna then attended Concordia Teachers College near River Forest, IL, and received her teaching degree.

LaVerne LeRoy “John” Schuning, 84

HARLAN – LaVerne LeRoy “John” Schuning, son of Lloyd and Ella (Neve) Schuning, was born on June 14, 1935 in Avoca. He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Avoca. He attended school in Avoca. At age 17, he left high school and joined the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. He spent 14 months in Korea and achieved the rank of Staff Sargent.

Brett Allen Petersen, 54

HARLAN – Brett Allen Petersen, son of George and Karma (Strandskov) Petersen, was born March 6, 1965 in Omaha, NE.  He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Harlan.  He attended Laurel School in Harlan and graduated from Harlan Community High School.  After high school, he attended Iowa State University in Ames, and South West Iowa Community College in Creston.Brett worked for the Department of Human Services at Systems Unl

Randy Petsche, 59

BOISE, ID – Randy Petsche was born to Lavern and Billie (Ross) Petsche in Sacramento, CA, March 2, 1960. He was the fourth of nine children, baptized at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Harlan and graduated from Harlan Community High School in 1978.

Shirley Joy (Tague) Meiners, 63

MANILLA – Shirley Joy (Tague) Meiners was born on July 6, 1956, to Oral and Joyce Tague in Fort Dodge.  She met Dale Meiners while participating in a bowling league and on February 5, 1983, they were united in marriage. After enjoying being a stay-at-home mother to her three children (Zachery, Tanya, and Jonathan), she started working at CDS in Harlan where she was employed for 27 years.

Pauline Mogensen, 86

    AVOCA -- Pauline Myrna Mogensen, 86, Avoca, died Monday, Aug. 5 at Avoca Specialty Care.    Survivors include her children Lynn (Dave) Hall of Morrison, CO, Terri Sutton of Anchorage, AK and Randy Mogensen of Avoca.    Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Avoca is in charge of arrangements.

Raleigh Woltmann, 95

    AVOCA -- Raleigh Ernest Woltmann, 95, Avoca, died July 25 at Avoca Specialty Care.    Services will be held Tuesday, Aug. 6 at 11 a.m. at United Church of Avoca with burial in the Shelby Cemetery.  Visitation is Monday, Aug. 5 from 4-8 p.m. with family greeting friends from 6-8 p.m.

Eileen Elenor Pauley, 76

Eileen Elenor Pauley, 76, died Saturday, July 20 at Myrtue Medical Center, attaining the age of 76 years, two months and 21 days.Eileen, the daughter of Anthony and Elenor (Thraen) Schleimer, was born on a farm in Panama on April 29, 1943. She attended country school and St. Mary’s High School in Panama, graduating with the class of 1960. After high school, Eileen was employed at the A.S.C.S.

Patricia Marie Wilson, 58

Patricia Marie Wilson, 58, of Pleasant Hill died Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at her home, attaining the age of 58 years of age.Patricia was born August 16, 1960 to Gerald Michael and Theresa Marie (Ohlinger) Sonntag in Harlan.  She graduated from high school in Atlantic and earned her Bachelor’s Degree at UNI, and her Master’s Degree at Drake.
