    AVOCA -- Rosemary L. Wingert, 93,Avoca, died away November 16 in Avoca.    Rosemary is survived by her daughters, SueEllen Mills of La Junta, Colorado, Sara (Rich) Schmit of Fremont, Nebraska; sons, Larry of Avoca and John of Shelby; 7 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Jan Wingert of Shelby; son-in-law, Clint Ford of Brush, Colorado; many nieces and nephews.    Recitation of the Rosary will be Friday, Nov.

    CARROLL -- Robert Oswald, 91, Carroll, formerly of Harlan, died Saturday, Nov. 13 at St. Anthony Nursing Home in Carroll.    Services will be held Friday, Nov. 19 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Lawrence Church St. John Paul II Parish in Carroll with burial at 2 p.m. Friday at the Harlan Cemetery.  Military honors will be conducted by the Harlan American Legion.    Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m.

    EARLING -- Shirley Ann Schaben, 55, Earling, died November 15 at her home.    Services were held Thursday, Nov. 18 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Westphalia with burial in the St.

    DEFIANCE -- Estelle M. Quinn, 96, Defiance, died November 13 at Elm Crest Assisted Living.    Services will be held Saturday, Nov. 20 at 11 a.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Defiance with burial in the Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Defiance.  Visitation will be Saturday from 9-11 a.m.

    HARLAN -- Orvie Emmet Christensen, 99, Harlan, died November 12 at Hansen House.    Services were held Monday, Nov. 15 at 1 p.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Jacksonville with burial in the Jacksonville Cemetery.    Christensen is survived by his wife, Margaret Christensen, of Harlan; daughters Kathlyn (Timothy) Hansen of Clarinda, Marilyn Weddum of Atlantic and Evelyn Madsen of Grimes; sons Orvie L.
