Bonnie Lea Buman

Bonnie Lea Buman was born on June 7, 1942, the daughter of Fabian and Delores (Coven) Brada in Elyria, Ohio. She was baptized and later confirmed into the Catholic faith. Bonnie received her education from Widefield High School in Security, Colorado. She graduated from Regis University in Denver, Colorado with her teaching degree. She graduated top of her class in both high school and college.

Margaret “Marg” Ann Olson, 93

Margaret “Marg” Ann Olson was born to Peter and Esther (Nelsen) Nelson on April 6, 1930, on the farm near Goldfield, Iowa. She was baptized and confirmed at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove, Iowa. When Marg was a young girl, her family moved to a farm west of Eagle Grove. She attended country school in Wright County and graduated from Eagle Grove High School with the Class of 1947.

Kristine Kay Thielen

Kristine Kay Thielen, daughter of Larry and Kathleen (Kasperbauer) Kington was born May 17, 1969 at Myrtue Medical Center in Harlan, Iowa.  She was baptized at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Defiance, Iowa.  She attended grade and high school at Irwin-Kirkman Community School.After high school, Kristine attended beauty school at Hair by Stewarts.

Betty Ann (Lundeen) Lundergard

Betty Ann (Lundeen) Lundergard was born December 8th, 1929 to Blanche (Reel) and Martin Lundeen on a farm near Loveland, Iowa. She had four sisters and one brother. Two of her sisters passed away before reaching adulthood. Betty graduated from Missouri Valley High School in 1948. After graduation she worked in Missouri Valley in the drug store at the soda fountain and as a Western Union operator.

Grace Elizabeth (Schoemann) Pauley

Grace Elizabeth (Schoemann) Pauley, daughter of Chris and Sophia (Blum) Schoemann was born on April 17th, 1930 in Harrison County. She was the third child in a family of eight children. She was baptized, received her First Communion, and confirmed at St. Mary’s Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Portsmouth. Grace attended Pleasant Ridge Country School through the 8th grade and completed her high school education at St.

Melvin Ray Martin, 75

Melvin Ray Martin, son of Francis and Mary (Davis) Martin was born on January 31, 1948, in Persia, Iowa.  He attended country school in Logan, Iowa until his family moved to Harlan, Iowa where he graduated from high school.Melvin worked for the City of Harlan Sanitation Department in the water treatment plant for almost 40 years. He retired in 2010.  Melvin was very handy and enjoyed working on cars or anything mechanical.

Marian Jean Anliker, 82

 Marian Jean Anliker, 82, of Harlan, IA passed away on January 15, 2024 after a decline in her health while surrounded by her loving family.Marian was born on February 20th, 1941 to Eli and Pearl Gerber in West Bend, IA. She was one of seven sisters who grew up and worked the family farm.

Kay Frances Gerholdt, 77

On January 23, 2024, Kay Frances Gerholdt, 77, passed away suddenly at home with her husband of 28 years, John Gerholdt.  She was born 11/14/1946 to Francis and Frances Peterson of Harlan, Iowa.  She leaves behind a legacy of warmth, kindness and cherished memories.Kay was the first of the baby-boomers and a calendar girl from the beginning, appearing in the Logeland calendar at the age of 3.

Jeanette Kay (Cavanaugh) Kroger

Jeanette Kay (Cavanaugh) Kroger, the daughter of  Pearl (Markley) and Howard Cavanaugh, was born on April 16, 1939, in Audubon, Iowa. She was one of eleven children.Jeanette married the love of her life, Louis Kroger, on July 17, 1955, at the Danish Lutheran Church in Audubon, Iowa. To this union, three children were born: Randy, Craig and Angela.

Harold Dean Peters, 97

Harold Dean Peters was born on December 8, 1926, on the Peters homestead 160-acre farm 3 ½ miles west of Corley, Iowa, to Ernest and Mildred (Sinison) Peters. He was the oldest of four children, with two brothers, Richard and Eugene, and one sister, Pearl. Harold was a member of the Tennant Future Feeders 4-H Club which his dad Ernest started October 4,1941. He was baptized and confirmed at the Shelby Lutheran Church.

Gary Lee Madsen

Gary Lee Madsen was born on March 5, 1957, at the Audubon Community Hospital, Audubon, Iowa. He passed away on December 31, 2023, at the Atlantic Specialty Care Center, Atlantic, Iowa.Gary was the son of Thomas S. Madsen and Irma C. (Lange) Madsen. Gary was the youngest of six Madsen children.

Susan Kay Greer,67

 Susan Kay Greer, daughter of Edward and Edythe Schweiso, was born May 15, 1956 at St. Anthony Hospital in Carroll, lowa. She attended grade school in Manilla and then in Irwin after the family moved.Susan graduated from Irwin-Kirkman High School in 1974. Shortly thereafter she met her soul mate Gary Greer on a blind date arranged by friends. Gary and Susan were married at the Harlan United Methodist Church on September 11, 1976.

Patti Kumm

Patricia Jean Christensen, the daughter of Walter and Margaret White Christensen, was born on December 16, 1934, on a small farm near Prairie Rose Lake in Shelby County, Iowa.  She was the oldest of three children: John (deceased) and Mary Ellen (deceased).  She enjoyed life on the farm and spending time with the family.  Most of all Patti enjoyed their trips to Minnesota spending time with her aunts, uncles and cousins.  Patti attended three

   Irene “Granny” Hansen was born to Tenta (Christensen) and Carl Haferbier on August 13, 1923 in Sanborn, Minnesota. Irene attended grade school at the country school near Defiance, Iowa. She then attended Harlan High School where she graduated in 1942.
