COUNTY – It’s almost time!  Get ready, kids, for Santa to make a stop in your community in December.  Santa Claus is Coming to Town to make his rounds with his friends from the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce & Industry on Saturday, Dec.

        COUNTY -- The eighth year of the holiday lighting ceremony in downtown Harlan will kick off Saturday, Nov. 27 with lots of Christmas cheer and holiday events to start the season in Shelby County.    The beginning of the holiday season is a special one the weekend after Thanksgiving.

    EARLING -- Mary H. Finken, 92, Earling, died November 15 at Sibley Specialty Care.    Services will be held Saturday, Dec. 4 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Earling with burial in the St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Earling.  A Catholic Daughter’s Rosary will be held Friday, Dec. 3 at 7 p.m. at the church.  Visitation is Friday from 4-8 p.m.

    AURELIA -- Richard “Dick” Bonnesen, 80, Aurelia, formerly of Elk Horn, died November 18 at Accura Healthcare in Aurelia.    Services were held Monday, Nov. 22 at 10:30 a.m.

    COLUMBIA, MO -- Roycene Knudsen, 36, Columbia, MO, died November 6 at her home.    Services were held Saturday, Nov. 20 at 1:30 p.m.

    HARLAN -- Lyle J. Kline, 48, Harlan, died November 15 at his home.    Services will be held Friday, Nov. 26 at 1 p.m.

    HARLAN -- Janelle Fern Evans, 86, Harlan, died November 20 at Myrtue Medical Center.    A graveside service will be held Wednesday, Nov. 24 at 2 p.m.

    NEOLA -- Steven Lee Olson, 66, Neola, died November 18 at his home.    Services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 23 at 1:30 p.m. at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Avoca.  Public visitation will be held Wednesday, Nov. 24 from 2-4 p.m. at Hamilton’s Funeral Home in Des Moines.  Family greeted friends Monday, Nov. 22 from 5-8 p.m.
