HARLAN -- The National Night Out event in Harlan was a huge success Tuesday evening, August 6 with nearly 300 people turning out to meet and visit with local law enforcement, firefighters and emergency personnel.

    DEFIANCE -- Donny Dotzler was born in Defiance and has spent most of his life in the agricultural community. During his time in Defiance, Dotzler has heard a number of stories.    Dotzler’s history of Defiance came from his father, his brother, and his own firsthand experience of Defiance’s community’s construction and changes throughout the years.

    ADAIR -- Jody Hagedorn and  Tanner Pease both of Stuart were married on June 15, 2019 at the Schafer Barn on the Hill near Adair. Rev. Robert Kersten performed the 5:30 p.m. double ring ceremony.    Parents of the couple are Larry and Beth Hagedorn, Irwin; and Mary Pease, Stuart, and the late Jeff Pease.

    PLYMOUTH, MN -- Michelle Lee and Corey Marin both of Plymouth exchanged marriage vows on May 18, 2019 at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church in Plymouth. Father Curtis Lybarger performed the 2 p.m. double ring ceremony.    Parents of the couple are Richard and Pat Lee, Avoca; and Anthony and Denise Marin, Godfrey, IL.

    RURAL HARLAN -- Tara Knudson and Colton Clack both of St. Louis, MO exchanged marriage vows on May 11, 2019 at Altamont Baptist Church in rural Harlan. The 4:30 p.m. double ring ceremony was performed by Pastor Gary Golike.    Parents of the couple are Rodney and Rhonda Knudson, Harlan; and Brian and Diane Clack, Hillsboro, MO.

    HARLAN -- Mike and Mary DeHaan of Harlan marked their 50th wedding anniversary on June 14. They celebrated recently with family in Fort Collins, CO. Their son Ryan officiated at a renewal of their marriage vows and at his brother Kenyon’s wedding.

    SWISHER, IA -- Amanda Roberts and Jeremy Hoffmann both of Iowa City will marry on September 14 at Cedar Ridge Winery in Swisher.    Amanda is the daughter of Kevin Roberts and Julie Miell, Marion, IA; and Penny and Craig Krier, Cedar Rapids. Jeremy is the son of Tony and Paulette Hoffmann, Audubon.
