In the third quarter of Tuesday’s home game, Vikings Senior Delaney Goshorn caught fire making three consecutive 3-pointers leading her team to a dominant 64-45 victory over the IKM-Manning Wolves for their 6th win of the season and first win since Dec. 15.

Griffith joins Harlan Newspaper’s award-winning graphic design staff

 HARLAN — Nori Griffith has joined the Harlan Newspaper staff as a graphic designer. Griffith received a Bachelor of Science in Media Communications with an emphasis in animation from John Paul the Great Catholic University north of San Diego, CA in Escondido in August 2023. Prior to attending college, she lived in Idaho and Nebraska, and was born in North Carolina. Her parents are both from Iowa and met attending Iowa State University.

Spartans drop close battle with Chargers

In the fourth quarter with the Chargers leading 63-62 over the Exira-EHK Spartans, Senior Charger Anthony Solorzano was fouled, making two free throws, securing a close 65-62 victory.

Cyclones scratch & claw for 3rd consecutive win

With 0.9 seconds remaining in the game and the Cyclones leading 40-37, Senior Cyclone Quinn Koesters was fouled, sending him to the free throw line, where he made both shots, securing a 42-37 victory, giving the Cyclones their third consecutive win.
“There was a lot of grit,” Koesters said. “The team just had to come together. It was a hard-nosed battle, and we just had to be strong.”

Cyclones suffer first loss of the season to Titans at home

With the Cyclones in an uphill battle trailing by four points to open the third quarter, it didn’t get any easier with the Lewis Central Titans going on a 12-2 run to open the second half, effectively winning the game 45-30, and handing the Cyclones their first loss of the season.
