 HARLAN -- The Harlan Community Athletic Booster Club Board of Directors inducted three new members into its Hall of Fame this year, honoring Todd Langenfeld and Mitch and Nancy Osborn during a pre-game ceremony on Friday, February 5, at the HCHS gymnasium.

 HARLAN -- Longtime Harlan Community assistant boys basketball coach Kelly Juhl was honored prior to the Cyclones’ Senior Night game vs. Carroll on February 18 and was presented a plaque recognizing his commitment to the program and this year’s senior class. Juhl recently completed his 19th season as an assistant coach to Mitch Osborn at HCHS.

    ELK HORN -- Vera Alene Laver, 96, Elk Horn, died March 13 at Myrtue Medical Center, Harlan.    Services will be held Wednesday, March 16 at 10:30 a.m. at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan with burial in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Kirkman.  Family will greet friends Tuesday, March 15 from 5-7 p.m.

On February 11, Captain Kerry Boltinghouse and First Officer Lisa (Petersen) Christensen operated a Boeing 737 on United Flight #1727 from Denver, CO to Tucson, AZ, and Flight #1138 back to Denver. This would have never been possible if it was not for the merger between Continental and United Airlines in 2010.
