Sr. Charlita Foxhoven
Sr. Charlita Foxhoven, SSSF, who devoted her religious life to accepting and financial leadership for her congregation, died June 9, 2026 at Sacred Heart in Milwaukee. She was 94.
Born Sept. 26, 1931 in Earling, she professed final vows with the School Sisters of St. Francis on June 21, 1965.
Sr. Charlita spent her entire religious ministry serving her congregation in Milwaukee. She served as an accountant from 1959 to 1969, treasurer from 1969 to 2003, and assistant treasurer from 2003 to 2014. She continued serving as a volunteer from 2014 to 2021.
From 2021 until her death, Sr. Charlita ministered through prayer and presence at Sacred Heart in Milwaukee.
She was survived by her sister, Shirley Herbst; her brother-in-law, William Rolf; her sister-in-law, Sharon Foxhoven; nieces, nephews, cousins, many friends; and the School Sisters of St. Francis community with whom she shared life for 69 years.
A funeral liturgy was held June 23, 2026 at St. Joseph Chapel, Milwaukee, followed by a burial at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Milwaukee.
