Cyclone girls show improvement in latest win
HARLAN -- The ball movement was crisper, the shooting was better and the dry spells were shorter Tuesday night as the Harlan Community girls basketball team showed marked improvement in a 58-35 win over Creston.
Taylor Frederick led a balanced Cyclone attack with 18 points and eight rebounds, fellow senior forward Emma Ahrenholtz had 12 points and seven boards and senior point guard Jordyn Moser added nine points and eight assists.
HCHS, ranked third in Class 4-A, improved to 3-1 overall and 2-0 in Hawkeye Ten Conference games, playing its best basketball since a season-opening two-point loss vs. fourth-ranked (5-A) Dowling Catholic.
Creston fell to 4-2 overall and 2-1 in the conference.
