Cyclone cagers overcome slow start to beat Denison

 DENISON -- For the Harlan Community boys basketball team, the bridge between high potential and high performance is a little bit of patience.
 The Cyclones aren’t hitting on all cylinders just yet, but the tools are in place for a big season.
 On Friday night, HCHS finished the first half on a 13-2 run and continued to pull away after the break, posting a 65-44 conference win at Denison-Schleswig to improve to 3-0 overall and 2-0 in the Hawkeye Ten. Denison dropped to 0-3 and 0-1.
 “Overall, we’re going to take it,” said Cyclone coach Mitch Osborn. “Sometimes you’ve got to grind out a win on the road, and ... it was a grinder. We’ll get there.”
 Senior Kyle Juhl led the Cyclones with 18 points and nine rebounds, including a flurry of 10 points during the third quarter. Will Lansman tallied 13 points, seven rebounds and five assists while Ethan Knudson also reached double digits with 10 points.
