Norma Jean (Hansen) Camery turns 95
SUN PRAIRIE, WI — A native of Harlan, Norma Jean Hansen was born May 28, 1931 and then grew up on the farm that now hosts Prairie Rose Lake. Norma went to country school near Jacksonville like her brothers, LuVerne and Wayne Hansen. Norma boarded in Harlan apartments with other farm girls so they could continue their education at Harlan High School. She was very active in school, graduated in 1949, and worked at Harlan National Bank.
She married Miles Camery, also native of Harlan, in 1950 and had two daughters in Harlan. Miles was hired as an Iowa game warden and later as an agent for the US Fish and Wildlife Service, taking the family to various locations in the United States. Norma now resides in Sun Prairie, WI, and will be celebrating her 95th birthday with friends and family.
