HARLAN – Myrtue Medical Center announces the addition of Nathalie Francis, MD, MPH, as a Family Practice Physician. Dr. Francis joins the Hospital medical staff who serve at Myrtue’s nationally recognized Top 20 and 5-Star Critical Access Hospital and medical clinic. Dr. Francis will see patients in the Harlan Rural Health Clinic starting Wednesday, September 11, 2024.
Dr. Nathalie Francis received her medical degree from the Medical University of the Americas—Saint Kitts & Nevis and completed her Family Medicine Residency training at the University of Alabama—Tuscaloosa. Dr. Francis also holds a master’s degree in Public Health with a focus on community health promotion from the University of West Florida—Pensacola. As a Family Medicine provider, she is devoted to providing comprehensive health care for people of all ages and has a particular interest in women’s health and preventative medicine.
“Dr. Francis’ commitment to family practice highlights her dedication to treating patients of all ages, from newborns to seniors, ensuring comprehensive care and addressing community health needs,” said Barry Jacobsen, CEO of Myrtue Medical Center. “We are excited to have her join our medical staff, where she will manage both acute and chronic conditions, provide maternity care for women, and ensure the overall well-being of our patients.”
“The field of Family Medicine provides a unique opportunity to serve people of all ages, across all walks of life, in various clinical settings,” said Dr. Francis. “I love the unique privilege of delivering a newborn to excited, yet anxious new parents one minute, to supporting a teenager with their life challenges, and then listening to a grandparent share stories and endless photos of their grandbabies—all in between conducting physical exams or history gathering,” she said. “No matter what milestones my patients are journeying through, my goal is to help them be the healthiest version of themselves in order to experience and live to tell all about it!”
Dr. Francis, her husband Lawrence, and almost one-year-old son, Lionel, look forward to making this community home.
