Bernice Petersen will turn 90

ANKENY — Bernice Petersen, formerly from Harlan, will be celebrating her 90th birthday on December 7. To celebrate this incredible milestone, her family is  planning a card shower. 
Bernice and her late husband, Laverne (Bud) Petersen lived in Harlan for more than 60 years before moving to Johnston three years ago. Bernice moved to Ankeny earlier this year. 
Bud and Bernice have three children, Kathy (Roger) Goetz, Johnston, Mike (Patti) Petersen, South Sioux City, and Brenda (Chris) Heggen, Johnston; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
